Janice Lee Emme was born in Spokane, WA, on September 8, 1952. She grew up in Bowman, ND, and graduated from the Moorhead (MN) State University Campus High School.
Jan received an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising that led to a successful career as a regional sales representative for companies that included Hanes, Lily of France, and Christian Dior.
She married her high school sweetheart, Mic Schwindt on June 8, 1989, in Moorhead. Jan and Mic raised three boys. She adored her sons and they were the center of her life.
Jan was creative and had a real sense of style. She was a Master Gardner, enjoyed cooking, and loved her dogs. She will be missed.
Jan died peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND, at fifty-nine years of age.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Margaret Stoen Emme and Harold Emme; and her niece, Christy Shotwell.
She is survived by her three sons, Matthew, Samuel, and William Schwindt; her sisters, Cher (Doug) Hersrud, Annette (John) Shotwell, and Diane (Tom) Johnson; and her brother, Dave (Patty Moen) Emme; and her nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
