Jason Lines

With heavy hearts, we announce that Jason R. Lines died at home on Sunday March 16, 2025 at 10:28 AM, a cold sunny winter day, with his Mom, Dad and Erica by his side. He died less than eight weeks after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Although his fight was short, he fought it with all he had.

Jason was born on June 18, 1979 in Fargo, ND. He spent his growing up years in West Fargo, ND and Breckenridge, MN, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1998.

Jason had a successful career in metal fabricating, mechanical drafting & design and welding. He was a go-getter and was able to successfully create a side business in addition to his full-time job. He was brilliant, in our opinion, and had the ability to picture anything in his head and re-create it.

Jason was fortunate to have two happy places in his life……first his country home in Averill, MN that he shared with Erica. He was lucky to have his best bud Josh as a neighbor. He treasured that friendship. He was a homebody who seldom ventured out of his “50 mile radius”. He often said it wouldn’t bother him a bit if he didn’t go anywhere for months.

The second was the family lake home on Turtle Lake, where he had been spending summers for the last 43 years. As an added bonus, it was an easy 36 miles from his home! We often joked that Jason knew more about how things work at the lake than Grandpa did…..and we weren’t kidding. He was happy to have created “Lake Families” over the years, including the Fridgens, Flaigs and Boens (Hey Buddy). You were all very important to him.

Jason was a quiet soul…a man of few words. When he did say something, it was usually pretty important. He didn’t like to waste his words and would think carefully and thoughtfully before saying them.

Jason loved his family with everything he had. He was always using his expertise to fix cars, washing machines, lawn mowers, solar lights, boat lifts, jet skis, pontoons, docks and literally anything else that needed fixing. He was a researcher who would figure it out if he didn’t know how. Even during his last hospital stay he was researching different ways to treat himself. Everybody knew who to go to, to get something done.

He was a builder of beautiful things.

Grandmother Maree Lou Larson

Special Uncles Kevin Larson, and Tim Larson, his partner in capital lake projects.

Future In-Laws Ruth Osmundson; Kevin (Vicki Blom) Puhalla; Missy (Mike) Sutherland and their son, also Jason’s Godson, Luke.

He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him forever.

Jason was preceded in death by:

Grandparents Doug Larson, Paul and Amy Lines, Rosemary Boyle;

Roger Frovarp, his biological father who died before he was born.

We would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for helping our sweet boy through this terrible time of transition. You were lifesavers to Erica.

Jason has requested, and I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone, that we not have a service. We will instead be having a celebration of his life at a later date at Turtle Lake. We will provide details with an announcement on Korsmo’s website (www.korsmofuneralservice.com), as well as Facebook, text messages and emails.
