Jean A. Rolczynski

Jean Arlet Rolczynski, 86, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Jean was born August 29, 1931, in Wahpeton, ND, daughter of Arthur and Clara (Braaten) Schafte. She married Ira Herman Schulz on June 25, 1949. She married Dominic Alexander Rolczynski on August 23, 1986.

Jean was raised in Fargo, ND, graduating from Fargo High School in 1949. She was a long-time member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, serving in many capacities including being a past president of ELCW. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary. For 23 years, Jean worked for Neubarth's Jewelry in Moorhead. From 1994 to 2008, Jean and Dom enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ. Jean enjoyed dancing, entertaining friends, and watching NDSU football. She was an avid reader with a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her spouse, Dominic Rolczynski; children Shirley (Leo) Richard, Fargo and Daryl (Ellen Kalaitzakis) Schulz, West St. Paul, MN; stepchildren, Julie (Mike) Childs, Kansas, Jeffrey (Sherry) Rolczynski, Illinois, and Chris Rolczynski, Colorado; grandchildren, Austin Richard, Emily Kalaitzakis, Elliana Nguessan, and Sister Rennay Brown, Fargo; and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by spouse, Ira Schulz; parents, Arthur and Clara Schafte; sisters, Marlys Schafte and Marleen Humphreys.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM., with a prayer service at 7 PM, Monday, July 23, 2018, at Korsmo Funeral Chapel in Moorhead. The memorial service will be 11 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
