Jean "Pat" Gwynn, age 90, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN.
Pat Gasaway was born in Hawley, MN, on October 10, 1925. As a young girl, she lived in Hawley, Chicago, IL, and in Sabin, MN. She received her education in Sabin, and in Moorhead, where she graduated from high school and attended college. As a young lady, she returned to Chicago to work for a short period of time.
On April 17, 1948, Pat was united in marriage to George Gwynn in Fargo, where they made their home. Pat worked at NW Bell for a year, and was a professional seamstress sewing clothing, as well as costumes for a variety of performances. In the 1960s, Pat served as "Mrs. North Dakota." Also, she was an excellent golfer and a good cook.
Pat's faith in Jesus was central to her life. In-depth Bible study and prayer were foundational for all she did.
Pat is survived by a son, Mike (Vickie) Gwynn, Elk River, MN; a daughter, Karen Vetter, Fargo; a daughter-in-law, Barb Gwynn; a sister, Esther (David) Tuttle; seven grandchildren, Mandy, Heather, Ivan, Melissa, Ethan, Caleb and Mason; and two great-grandchildren, Nora and Natalie. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, who died in 2004; a son, Cary; her mom and dad; and a sister, Virginia.
The funeral service for Jean "Pat" Gwynn will be Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 11 AM in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral, at the church.
Burial will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo
