Jeane Mason, 88, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Touchmark at Harwood Groves in Fargo.
Betty Jeane MacDonald was born, January 1, 1925, the daughter of Dan and Belva (Higdon) MacDonald in Crystal, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Crystal High School and then attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, ND. She worked as the secretary/bookkeeper at the United Presbyterian Church in Grand Forks and later she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper in the business department of Jamestown (ND) College.
On March 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Harry Mason in Devils Lake, ND. They made their home in Jamestown and she worked at The Gallery and Keith's Fashions. Harry died in 1997 and Jeane moved to Fargo in 2005.
Jeane enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and reading.
She was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Jamestown, where she served as an elder. Jeane was an Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church, (USA), served as a Stephen Minister and was a member of PEO Chapter AB for 50 years.
She is survived by her children, Vicki (Richard) Laraway, West Fargo, ND, Pegi (Hal) Ecker, Fargo, and Greg (Beth) Mason, Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren, Daniel Laraway, Mark Laraway, Scott Ecker, Molly Ecker, Tyler (Ellen) Mason, Brady Mason and Carly Mason; sister, Donna Christianson, Cavalier, ND; brothers, Robert MacDonald, Drayton, ND, and Dale MacDonald, Brooklyn Center, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; and sister, Lorraine Pederson.
Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, Moorhead, or United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown.
Prayer Service: Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 7:00 PM, in Touchmark at Harwood Groves in Fargo.
Visitation: One hour prior to service on Friday.
Memorial Service: Friday, November 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead.
Interment: Friday, November 8, 2013, at 3:00 PM, in Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
