Jeanette Vivian (Hahn) Ladwig, 77, Moorhead MN, passed away Wednesday evening, April 24, 2013, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Jeanette was born on August 21, 1935, to John and Mabel Hahn at St. John's Hospital in Fargo. She was raised on the family farmstead at Alice, ND. Jeanette was the youngest of eleven children: Evelyn, Wallace, Charlotte (Philip) Engstrom, Bernard (Marion), Lavern (Lavonne), Audrey, Rita (Sylvester) Dimmer, Delores (Clarence) Zick, Kent and John (Ruth).
Jeanette was united in marriage on March 2, 1957, to LeRoy Ladwig in Breckenridge, MN, where they lived for twelve years before moving to Moorhead in 1968. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Joachim (Katrina), Jeffrey (Lauri), Lydia (deceased), Jonathan (Jill), and Jacqueline Davidson, and eight grandchildren: Joachim, Henry, Bryce, Britany, Stella, Trevor, Rhiannon, and Andrew; and many dear nieces and nephews.
As a loving mother and wife, she will be remembered as an active, supportive, and creative role model. Instilling her strong faith in her children's upbringing, she was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, where she taught Sunday school and was director of the Altar Guild for thirty years. Mom provided exquisite leadership of the Altar Guild and shared her creativity and floral design abilities to greatly enhance worship services and weddings, adding her creative flair for that special touch. She was a member of Soroptimist International of Fargo during which time she was Regional Chairperson of Women Helping Women and acting president for two years. Inspired by Jeanette's love of the piano, music permeated the Ladwig home. With a deep love of family, Jeanette and LeRoy shared many family celebrations with the Hahn sisters, maintaining a tradition of sharing Saturday lunches and Sunday services together over the past several years and throughout her time at Eventide.
Graduating from Fargo High School, Jeanette's multi-faceted career was centered around being of service to others, her love of flowers and gardening, and family. Over the years, she has taken on many roles: phlebotomist at St. Luke's Hospital, lecturer for Weight Watchers, bookkeeper and floral designer for Town & Country Flowers, operated her own floral and craft business, receptionist at Eventide Lutheran Home, provided fitness classes for seniors at Eventide Senior Living Community, and into her final days, as a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks for the care and support given by the staff of the Sanford South Fargo Dialysis Unit, Roger Maris Cancer Center, and Eventide Senior Living Communities. A special thanks to all family and friends for their gracious support of Mom over the years.
