Jeffrey Arlan Mueller, 47, of Elk River, MN, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at his family's lake home near Battle Lake, MN, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Jeff was born August 28, 1962 to Arlan and Elaine (Mundal) Mueller, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Glyndon, MN, and attended school in Fargo, at Grace Lutheran School and Oak Grove Lutheran High School. Jeff studied taxidermy and electrician work. Jeff farmed for many years with his aunt and uncle, Diane and Gary Olson, in Valley City, ND. He especially loved working with cattle. Jeff was united in holy matrimony to Teresa Rieder, on February 2, 2002, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo. Jeff and Teresa first settled in Phoenix, AZ, and then moved closer to family in Elk River.
Jeff will foremost be remembered for the unconditional love he showed those around him. He was a steadfast supporter of nieces and nephews in all their endeavors. Jeff was a true fan of the Vikings and Twins. He had a love for hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors. Jeff was a master of grilling and hosting family events. He also had an innate ability to fix about anything. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others from hunting and card playing techniques to remodeling the house. He enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, and cherished games of pinochle with his grandmother. Jeff was an avid fan of classic movies, especially those starring John Wayne. He enjoyed reading books by Louis L'Amour. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Teresa; father, Arlan of Glyndon, MN; grandmother, Eveline Mueller of Battle Lake; seven siblings, Greg (Diane) Mueller of San Diego, CA, David (Lana) Mueller of Moorhead, MN, Kristi (Jim) Auxier of Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Trica) Mueller of Rugby, ND, Michelle (Brian) DeRemer of Minneapolis, MN, Lisa (Mark) Hinsz of Richfield, MN, and Kim (Matt) Coffee of Minneapolis, MN; six sisters-in-law, Jo (Larry) Hoffert of Cando, ND, Stephanie Smith of Jamestown, ND, Gina (Doug) Beck of Cando, Rebecca (Martin) Woodcock of Delano, MN, Gabrielle Gibbs of Devils Lake, ND, and Shannon Rieder of Oakdale, MN; brother-in-law, T. Donavan (Robin) Rieder of Cando; ten beloved aunts and uncles; thirty-four adored nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine (Mundal) Mueller; maternal grandmother, Erma Roberts; maternal grandfather, Edwin Mundal; paternal grandfather, Henry Mueller; great-uncle, Fred Blase; aunt, Cheryl (Mundal) Eddings; uncle, Gary Olson; and cousin, Michael Poll.
Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2010 from 5-7 PM. with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo.
