Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Lopez, 64, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, December 18, 2020, in the University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, from complications of Covid-19. During the Pandemic, Jeff quarantined and followed guidelines due to health issues. Unfortunately, all it took was a simple visit from a friend to lead to a Covid-19 diagnosis, please be careful around your loved ones and friends during these times of uncertainty. We don't want you to have to feel the pain we now feel.

Jeffrey Samuel Lopez was born May 6, 1956, the loving son of Aurelio and Alicia (Hernandez) Lopez in Moorhead. He was raised in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. During his high school years, Jeff excelled in sports in wrestling, football and track After high school he worked with construction companies in the Fargo/Moorhead area and then started Lopez Construction which he ran until 2005.

Jeff loved living near and spending time on the water. He enjoyed his time at his home on Lake Seven, near Frazee, MN, and on the ocean near his home on Marco Island in Florida. Anytime spent in a boat, swimming or just walking on the beach brought him great joy and peace.

He is survived by his brothers, Soaring Hawk (Kulyan), Tucson, AZ, and John S. (Joanie) Lopez, Perham, MN; sister, Judy Ann Lopez, Lebanon, IN; nephews, James O'Neal Sabino Lopez, and Micah Benjamen Aurelio Lopez, Minneapolis, MN; loving companion, Joan Maharas; uncle, Raymond Coronado, Lebanon, IN; and many treasured cousins. Jeff was also blessed to share many years of his life with Evonne Grismer.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

Jeff was a kind, thoughtful and generous man with a giving heart always willing to help others. At this time, it would be his families and Jeff's wish that any memorials or donations be directed to local food banks in the Fargo/Moorhead area in his memory during this time of incredible need, thank you.

A Visitation for Jeff will be Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with a Private Funeral Mass to follow will be in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.

In accordance with CDC and local guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required for attendance. Jeff's Funeral Mass will also be live-streamed at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2021 and the links can be found on his obituary page on the Korsmo Funeral Service website.
