Jeldine "Jerri" Olson

Jeldine "Jerri" Olson, 92, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, under the loving care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, third floor staff at Eventide, and surrounded by her family.
Jerri, daughter of John and Minnie (Gumness) Erickson was born September 5, 1921, in Fingal, ND. She attended school in Fingal and after graduation, moved to Fargo, ND, to begin work.
Jerri was united in marriage to Leslie B. Olson on November 30, 1949, in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Moorhead, and raised their family.
Over the years, Jerri kept busy in the family home raising the children until they were all in school, and then began her career. Jerri worked at various jobs including Silverline in Moorhead, and several years at NDSU Agriculture Department until she retired in 1986.
Jerri was a longtime member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead. Throughout the years she was active in the church choir, library and women's circle. Jerri enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, bowling, playing softball, watching baseball and most of all, music. She will be remembered for her love of music, singing songs, humming or whistling a tune wherever she went. Jerri will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Jerri is survived by her son, Leslie J. Olson (Gina), Edina, MN; daughters, Laurie Vesledahl (Tom), Moorhead, and Linda Thom (Tim), Fergus Falls, MN; eight grandchildren, Michael Sullivan (Bri), Fargo, Kalee Wysuph (Robby), Fargo, Krista Sullivan, Las Vegas, NV, Aubrey Vesledahl (fiancé Dan), Moorhead, Ryan Vesledahl, Moorhead, Nathan Thom, Fergus Falls, Jenna Thom, Fergus Falls, and Max Olson, Edina, MN; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett Sullivan, and Easton Wysuph; nephew, Craig Harper; and niece, Valerie Scholten.
Jerri was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Leslie; daughters, Janaan Olson and Judy Sullivan; and three brothers, Oscar, Arthur and Earl.
Jerri's family would like to thank the entire staff at Eventide Lutheran Home and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the wonderful care they provided Jerri and her family.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday, March 1, 2014, with a funeral at 10:30 AM, in The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
