Jerome "Jerry" Bueide

Jerome O. "Jerry" Bueide, age 82, died May 7, 2010, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, where he resided since a fall the previous December.

Jerry was born March 13, 1928, to Oscar and Marie Bueide. After starting elementary school in Rustad, MN, his family moved to Moorhead, where he graduated from high school in 1946. He attended Concordia College, and received his BA in 1950. While in college, he served in the Minnesota National Guard, and following college was called into active duty during the Korean Conflict.

Upon his return to Moorhead, Jerry met Audrey J. Peterson in 1952. They were married September 26, 1953 in West Union Lutheran Church, rural Northwood, ND. Jerry was employed by Horvick Electric. In 1956, Jerry joined his father working at Fargo Linoleum. He worked at Fargo Linoleum, including serving as president of the company, until he retired in 1991. Jerry and Audrey lived in Moorhead for 51 years and the last 5 years in Fargo.

Jerry was very active in church and civic activities throughout his years. He was a lifelong member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, where he served on numerous boards and sang in church choirs for 60+ years. He was very active in several capacities with Sertoma Club, Builder's Exchange, Sons of Norway, Oak Grove Lutheran School, and Concordia College.

Jerry worked hard, but also played hard. He loved spending time with his parents, Audrey, children, grandchildren, and others, at the family lake cabin, which he and his parents built in 1948. There, he enjoyed sailing, fishing, skiing, and especially working on the many cabin projects. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, hunting, traveling, and attending his grandchildren's sporting, music and other activities. He deeply influenced and will be greatly missed by his family.
Jerry and Audrey were blessed with many lifelong friends, and enjoyed frequent gatherings with them. He loved life and lived it to the fullest Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey, of Fargo; his children, Diane (Ron) Sitzer and Dan (Michelle) Bueide, both Fargo; grandchildren, Arnold Jerome "A.J." and Johanna Sitzer, and Peter and Jacob Bueide; and sisters, Opal (Wayne) Pennypacker and Mary Lou Anderson. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Thomas Anderson. .
Memorials are preferred to Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Oak Grove Lutheran School, and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation: Tuesday, 5 PM to 7 PM,
