Jerry L. Colwell

Jerry Llewellyn Colwell, 74, passed away August 28, 2018 at East Bank Center, Rockford, IL.
Jerry was born in Fargo, ND, on September 29, 1943, son of Llewellyn and Gladys (Olson) Colwell. He grew up and graduated from Fargo High School in 1961. Jerry worked for an automatic oil pipeline welding company as a technician in countries overseas. In 1967, he was married to Patsy Ortego.
Most recently, he had his own business selling hunting and fishing equipment, which were his favorite sports and shared with many family members. Jerry learned to play golf from his father and he taught his own family to play golf.
In 1981, Jerry married Cheryl Stock Fair, in Moorhead, MN. His last years in Rockford were spent visiting many health care providers and facilities and he was very grateful for the care he received.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Rockford; a son, Jeret (Sare) Colwell; step-son Keith (Tammy) Fair; step-grandsons, Kyle and Patrick; sisters, Kay (Keith) Rosengren, and Mary (Quentin) Erickson; and two nephews.
Memorial visitation for Jerry will be Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, 3 PM to 6 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
