Jesse Lee Schuck was born March 22, 1923, to Emil and Augusta (Rieniets) Schuck. "Sam", as he was known to most people, proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WW II.
Sam was united in marriage to Sally Leach on December 20, 1950. He established Schuck Bus Service in 1954. Sam and Sally spent many years transporting school children for the Moorhead School District. Sally passed away in 1975. Sam retired in 1986.
On Valentine's Day of 1986, Sam married Betty Melander. They had twenty-four wonderful years together, spending summers in Minnesota at their lake home on Floyd Lake, and wintering in Mesa, AZ. Following a short illness and with his family by his side, Sam passed away peacefully Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Innovis Health, at eighty-seven years of age.
Sam loved being with people. His laugh filled the room with joy. He doted over his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his special friend, "Sammy", his dog.
Sam is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Linda (Ronnie) Olson, Tucson, AZ, Jeanine (Patrick) Lagle, Show Low, AZ, and Marsha (George) Aas, Fargo, ND; son, Mark (Valerie) Schuck, Moorhead, MN, five stepchildren, Catherine Hegel, Tempe, AZ, Deborah (Paul) Edwards, Queens Creek, AZ, Vicki (Steve) Sommerville, Tucson, Christy (James) Ross, Gilbert, AZ, and Cindy Ford, Mesa; a special nephew, Rick (Pat) Ocker, Tucson; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leed Blair, Dallas, TX.

In addition to his first wife, Sally, Sam was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Memorials are requested to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation for Sam will be Friday, July 16, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His funeral will be Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 10 AM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
