Joan Diane Skjaret was born to Ralph and Edlin (Johnson) Skjaret, on March 23, 1943, in Fargo, ND. She was raised in Moorhead, MN, where she attended high school.
Joan was united in marriage to Stanley Lloyd Jensen, June 30, 1960, in Moorhead, where they made their home. Joan worked for a time with AAA Travel Agency in Fargo. She also worked at the Clay County courthouse and the Heritage Hjemkomst Center, both in Moorhead. Prior to this, Joan served her family faithfully, raising her children and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. More recently, Joan was a caregiver for several of her elderly relatives and served them in many ways.
Joan and Stanley raised their children to understand the importance of family and being together. They spent many vacations together traveling as a family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her later years.
Stanley preceded Joan in death on July 22, 1992. Her parents and three brothers also preceded her in death. With her family in her presence, Joan died Monday, January 14, 2008, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at sixty-four years of age.
Joan is lovingly survived by her three sons, Rick (Donna) Jensen, Bloomington, MN, John (Julie) Jensen, Fargo, and Jeremy (Shannon) Jensen, Horace, ND; two daughters, Kristal (Richard) Nogowski, Fargo, and Charlene (Lee Williams) Wiener, Fargo; fourteen g
Visitation for Joan will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Thursday, January 17, 2008, at 2 PM, in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead.
