Joan Marie Geyer, 74, West Fargo, ND, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND, under the care of Ethos Hospice.
Joan was born May 6, 1949, in Ashland, WI, to Herman and Verna (Williams) Terhark. The family moved to Fargo, ND, when Joan was young, and she worked in the family-owned café. She also babysat.
Joan graduated from Fargo North High School in 1967, and then went to Moorhead (MN) State University. She worked at NDSU Extension Service as a secretary for many years, and then worked for MetroCOG until her retirement. Joan married Drew Geyer on January 23, 1971.
Joan made many wonderful friends along the way. She loved bowling, Elvis, her Tiarra group of friends, taking walks, and her dog, Franki. She was also very involved with the non-profit, FCE club. She enjoyed traveling and was able to do so through FCE.
Joan was a beloved wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole; siblings, Judy Paul, Jill Hersch, David Terhark, and Dennis (Karen) Terhark; sister-in-law, Judy Terhark; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Verna Terhark; her husband of fifty-three years, Drew; son, Aaron; and her brother, Darwin Terhark.
Please consider memorials or donations to the charity of your choice. Joan, with her giving and serving lifestyle, chose organ donation for research of Parkinsons Disease as well as dementia, with the hope of alleviating these conditions for others.
Visitation for Joan will begin at 12 PM, with a Life Celebration service at 1 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN. Her final resting place will be with her husband, son, and other family members in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
