Johannah M. Schultz

Johannah Marie Strommen was born March 6, 1914, to Henry and Minnie (Pinske) Strommen, in Wild Rice Township, near Gary, MN. She attended country schools and graduated from high school in Twin Valley, MN. She attended normal school and received a teaching certificate. She taught for one year in Wild Rice County.
Johannah was united in marriage to Harold D. Schultz, November 11, 1935, in Gary, and they made their home in both Wild Rice County and Gary. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1944.
Johannah worked at the Warren Café and the Blackhawk Café, both Moorhead, and later at F.W. Woolworth, in Moorhead and later in Fargo, ND. She retired on May 5, 1980. Harold died June 23, 1969. Johannah died Wednesday, April 5, 2007, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, at ninety-three years of age.
Johannah is survived by her children, Darlene (Larry) Larson, Buffalo, WY, Sandra Schultz, Bakersfield, CA, Sharon (Robert) Such, Barnesville, MN, Harold Jr. "Butch" (Victoria), Moorhead, and Rodney (Cheryl), Pelican Rapids, MN; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; daughters-in-law, Ann Schultz, Frazee, MN, and Linda Schultz, Florida; and a son-in-law, Tom Lynch, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Duane and Darrell; daughter, Beverly; grandsons, Jeff and Daniel Schultz; great-grandson, Gavin Schultz; and two brothers, Vernon and Ernest Strommen.
Johannah's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all those that have helped care for Johannah, especially to Kathy Lehmann.
Visitation for Johannah will be Friday, April 6, 2007, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 5:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 10 AM, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN.
