John Kallander, age 64, died unexpectedly and peacefully in his home in Moorhead, MN, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
John Edwin Kallander, the son of Edwin and Maxine (Anderson) Kallander, was born in Fargo, ND, on June 27, 1956. He grew up and received his education in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school in 1974, and then graduated with an Associates Degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
On June 3, 1978, John was married to Virginia "Ginger" Gerig, in Moorhead. They lived for a very short time in Morris, MN, and then returned to the Fargo-Moorhead area, where they have lived since. Throughout the years, John worked in grocery/marketing, insurance/securities, residential construction, and appliance and, in 2006, started his business, Blue Ribbon Window Cleaning, which he owned and operated to this day.
Throughout his life, John was an avid and talented singer; he was involved with
Bach-Boy choir, church choirs, FM Opera Co, and Great Plains Harmony barbershop men's choir. John enjoyed spending time with family at Lake Lida. He had a love and passion for cooking. Despite multiple health challenges over the years, John always took the time to heal with grace while continuing to maintain a positive and overall good-natured attitude.
John is survived by his wife, Ginger, Moorhead; a daughter, Quinn (Trevor) Ibach, Charleston, SC; sons, Theron (Kayla) Kallander, West Fargo, ND, and Jesse Kallander, Lake Park, MN; his mother, Maxine Kallander, Dilworth, MN; brothers, Curt (Margaret) Kallander, Moorhead, and Robert (Denice) Kallander, Fargo; a sister, Carol (Peter) Bullene, Watertown, SD; and four grandchildren, Alexis, Leila, Reiley, and Evelyn Ibach. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, who died in 2019.
Visitation for John will be Sunday, October 25th, 2020, from 4 PM until 6 PM, with a prayer service following at 6pm, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. His funeral service will be Monday October 26th, 2020, at 11 AM at Calvary Church at Village Green, Moorhead. Arrangements by Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
