John Francis Jacobs, 72, Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services, Fargo.
He was born in Halstad, MN, to the late Francis Henry and Idah K. (Johnson Zittelman) Jacobs, and his family moved to Fargo at an early age. He graduated from Central High School.
John married Carol Ackerson on August 20, 1966. They made their home in north Fargo, where they raised their four children. He was best known for his sharp sense of humor and ability to make his loved ones laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, Fargo; and four children: Juli (Scott) Price of Papillion, NE, Carolyn (Danny) Cossette of Audubon, MN, Barb (Mark) Parsons of Fargo, and Matthew (Patty) Jacobs of Coon Rapids, MN.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Ben Huber, Jessica Cossette and Stephanie Cossette, Josh Parsons, Justin Parsons and Hannah Parsons, and Josey Jacobs; and one great-grandson, Mason Biermaier.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Peterson; his stepfather, Albert Zittelman; and his granddaughter, Kati Lyn Short.
His funeral will be at 10 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
Burial will be at 1 PM, in Halstad Cemetery (South), Halstad, MN.
