John Lokken

John Stephen Lokken was born March 21, 1947, in Moorhead, MN. He was raised in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school.
He joined the US Army and served in Vietnam in 1967-1969. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Minnesota, where in invested in the DeRoxe Club, a restaurant/bar on Lake Maude, near Detroit Lakes, MN.
John had many friends at the lake and always enjoyed a round of golf. He was active in the Moorhead American Legion and the "40 & 8".
John retired and sold the club in 2003. The last two years, John was cared for in a nursing home. He died in his sleep of natural causes on Friday, November 16, 2012. Memorials in his honor may be sent to the Moorhead American Legion.
No services will be held for John. He was cremated and will join in parents, Herbert and Marjorie Lokken, in burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Fort Snelling, MN.
