Jonella Jean Larson was born October 27, 1928, in McHenry, ND, to Jens and Adella Larson. She was the youngest of three children and was raised and educated in New Rockford, ND.
After she graduated from high school, Jonella attended North Dakota State University (formerly North Dakota Agricultural College), in Fargo, ND, where she met Donald "Don" Domek, who was attending the School of Pharmacy at the University. They were married October 16, 1947.
Following Don's graduation, they made their home in Thief River Falls, MN, where they had their first child. They moved to Moorhead, MN, where Don was hired as a pharmacist and manager of Wold Drug. Jonella became the bookkeeper for Wold Drug and later for Domek Drug.
When Domek Drug closed, Jonella started her own bookkeeping business, providing services to small businesses in Moorhead and Fargo, including The Sea Saw, Western Shop, Bridget's, Winston Entertainment, Ron Nicklay Cabinet Shop, and Tom Gould Jewelry. She retired after twenty years.
Don preceded Jonella in death on January 13, 2010, and she continued to make her home in Moorhead. She died on Monday, January 2, 2012, in her home, at eighty-three years of age.
Jonella was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, and the Elkettes.
Jonella is survived by her three daughters, Cassandra (Chris) Torkildson, Sacramento, CA, Melissa Domek, Moorhead, and Amy Jo (Rex) Keeler, Lincoln, NE. In addition to Don, her husband of sixty-one years, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norris Larson, and a sister, Nona Wagner.
An informal wake service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 3 - 5 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
