Joyce C. Gilbertson

Joyce C. Gilbertson, 84, of Hendrum, MN, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in Sanford Health West Campus, Fargo, ND.

Joyce Christine (Grindberg) Gilbertson was born and raised in Mapleton, ND. For many years she lived in Dilworth, MN, where she raised her five children. She was an amazing woman, widely known for her love of chickens, cooking skills (especially her potato salad), candy making at Christmas time, and her beautiful cakes. Joyce also loved to sew, arrange flowers, paint, do puzzles and use tools of every kind while doing housing renovations and carpentry work.

Joyce would often say that she was smiling on the inside and was a very hard worker who only stopped working at the age of 82.
Even though she pretended to tolerate her family but really adored them.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Dawn) Gilbertson; daughters, Joddie Gilbertson and Tricia (David) Gibbons; grandchildren, Heather Lovejoy, Kyle Kooren, Josh (Teia) Gilbertson, Cody (Gabi) Gilbertson, Chris DeLupo, BriAnne Nedrebro, Wade (Sabrina) Gilbertson, Andrew Gilbertson, Nick (Emmy) Gibbons, and Mike (Greta Beck) Gibbons; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Aubree, Haylee, Mason, Samantha, Jackson, Julian, Alaina, Laika, Aurora, Sheyenne, Liam, Gunnar, and Mirabella; and sisters, Margaret Turner and Kate Schar.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffrey Allen, daughter, Vicki; son, Tim; her parents, four brothers and three sisters, and nieces and nephews.

She will truly be missed!
