Joyce M. Paulson, 74, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, October 15, 2006, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Joyce Mae Paulson was born May 1, 1932, on the family farm near Gully, MN, to Bennie and Blanche (Paulson) Tharaldson. Joyce was raised on the family farm and graduated from high school at Gonvik, MN.
She graduated from Crookston (MN) School of Nursing as a LPN and then worked at the state hospital in Fergus Falls, MN. On February 28, 1954, Joyce married Orville Bratvold, in Gully. They made their home in Clearbrook, MN, until they moved to Moorhead in 1965. Orville died in 1967.
Joyce worked as a LPN at Dakota Hospital in Fargo. She married Donald Paulson, April 23, 1977, in Moorhead, where they made their home. Because of health concerns, Joyce retired in 1982, but continued to volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fargo, and Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead.
Joyce was active in the VFW Auxiliary at both Moorhead and West Fargo, ND.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Donald, Moorhead; two daughters, Renae (Steve) May, Bemidji, MN, and Randi (Henry) Jangula, Williston, ND; one stepdaughter, Peggy (Mylo) Ystenes, Winger, MN; one stepson, Keith (Lisa) Paulson, Gully; six grandchildren; t
