Joyce V. Hoff

December 18, 1932 — August 2, 2007

Joyce Violet Hoff, 74, Hendrum, MN, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, August 2, 2007, in Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND.

Joyce was born December 18, 1932, the daughter of William and Aveline Speers. She grew up on a farm near Moorhead, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High. After high school she attended Interstate Business College and played softball on the traveling team that went to Nationals.

On October 23, 1953, Joyce married Klyde Sherman Hoff of Perley, MN, and they soon moved to Washington, DC, where she worked as a secretary for the Pentagon while Klyde was in the service there. They built a home near Perley in 1960, where she lived until 1998, when she moved to the apartments in Hendrum.

Joyce committed her life to Jesus Christ in 1963, and has always been very involved with her church. During her lifetime, Joyce was very active and she loved to go to her children's and grandchildren's games, programs and other activities. She loved travel, music, golf, bowling, and any game invented. She was an eager volunteer whenever one was needed.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Klyde; a son, Richard; and her parents. Joyce is survived by a daughter, Susan (Randy) Dyrendahl, Moorhead; two sons, Mark (Laura) Hoff, Hendrum, and Terry (Karey) Hoff, Memphis, TN; and eight grandchildren, Nick, Kristi, Elizabeth, Natalie, Connor, Mason, MacKiah, and Cayden.

The visitation will be on Sunday from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

The funeral service will be on Monday, August 6, 2007, at 10 AM, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum with burial at Landstad Lutheran Cemetery, Perley.
