Juelie Anne Richardson Hermann, 48, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
Juelie was born August 10, 1963 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Marcus and Juelene (Bess) Richardson. Juelie spent the majority of her childhood years in Utah, Idaho and Washington. Following her mother's death, she moved with her family to Moorhead, in 1980 and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1981. She briefly attended NDSU, Fargo, ND, before changing her focus to cosmetology, where she thrived for several years.
In July 1984, she married Tom Hermann. Driven by her love of animals, Juelie purchased Stonegate Kennels pet store in Moorhead and renamed it K-9 Country Club. She spent twenty plus years building her business and infecting the community with love and compassion. She expanded her business into Fargo and opened Great Pets.
Juelie had a heart of gold and enriched the lives of her many friends and employees through her kind and giving nature. Juelie also found joy helping others and spent the past 25 plus years caring for several special needs persons. Through this journey she developed a unique relationship with Chantel VanSteenwyk, and was considered by many to be Juelie's surrogate daughter. Juelie touched the lives of many and will be missed.
Juelie is survived by the love of her life, Darwin Opdahl, Dilworth, MN; her father and stepmother, Marcus (Sharyl) Richardson, Moorhead; two brothers, John (Sheila) Richardson, Fargo, and Kenneth (Jennifer) Richardson, Hudson, WI; stepbrothers, Jeffrey (Tricia) Martin, Maple Grove, MN, and Matthew (Ricki) Martin, Moorhead; nieces and nephews, Mark, Lauren, Emily, Carly, Abigail, and Reese Richardson, and Seth, Tyler, Josh, and Addie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Juelene Richardson.
Visitation: Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 5 to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Monday August 13, 2012, at 2 PM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 10 AM, at Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, UT.
