June M. Felde, 75, Moorhead, MN, passed on to the heavenly home in the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in her room at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.

June Marie Hedlund was born May 1, 1933, in Fargo, ND, the only child of Arthur Emanuel and Alma Marie (Folvig) Hedlund. She was baptized into the Christian faith on June 25, 1933, at Mentor (MN) Lutheran Church. She confirmed her faith on May 13, 1951, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. She attended Fargo public schools, Clara Barton, Agassiz, and Fargo Central High, graduating in May 1951. She continued her education at NDSU and Concordia College. She worked in retail sales while in high school and as an office clerk while in college and until marriage.

June and Philip Felde were married June 8, 1953, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, where they had met. The newlyweds traveled to California, living in Coronado, Vallejo, San Francisco and San Diego while Phil served in the Navy. June returned to Fargo to have her first child while Phil was in the Far East for a year. They moved back to Moorhead at the end of 1955. Phil began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in June 1956. They made their home in Grand Forks, Moorhead, Williston, and back to Moorhead in 1963 to their first permanent home.

June was active in congregations wherever she lived, assisting with Sunday school, singing in choir and participating in women's groups. She was active in the Young Republicans, assisting with campaigns and later with the Republican Women at local and state level. She attended two conventions of the National Federation of Republican Women.

June and family enjoyed activities at West McDonald Lake from 1968 to 1993. The highlight may have been June's catch of an eight-pound Northern. June worked at Eventide Lutheran Home from 1978 to 1990. She and Phil spent the summer of 1983 at Mount Carmel Bible Camp near Alexandria, MN. June was camp registrar. The family had camped there several times prior to 1968.
In 1990 the first evidences of Alzheimer's disease surfaced-confirmed in 1994. She remained at home until May 2001 when she returned to Eventide as a resident. Her condition remained at a fairly steady stage. Congestive heart failure took over in
October 2008 and on November 11 the staff began comfort care. She rallied for three hours Friday morning in the company of family, pastor, and staff. She was aware of and acknowledged their expressions of love and the certainty of reception to the heavenly home.

June was appreciative of all that was done for her. The family thanks staff and pastoral care (Pastors Steve Streed and Bill Ahlfeldt) at Eventide, and visiting friends, members of Our Redeemer Church and staff, including Pastors Bruce Noennig and George Krueger, for their care and concern and prayers over the years.
June was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Joy Marie. She is survived by her husband, Phil; six children, Judith Salvi, Fargo, Dan, Moorhead, Paul, Pelican Rapids, Sara (Sheldon) Reed, Buffalo, MN, Peter and Mark, Moorhead; and five grandchildren, Gina Salvi, Philip, Sam, and Anna Reed, and Hans Felde.
