Karen Marie Rudrud was born January 4, 1938, in Grafton, ND, to Gerhard and Eva (Trennum) Rudrud. The family moved to Moorhead, MN, when she was very young and she graduated from Moorhead High School in 1956.
Karen worked as an entertainer for many years, beginning with Channel 4 at Grand Forks, ND. She married Lawrence Royster on September 13, 1969, at Elkton, MD, and they lived in New York state.
They moved to Las Vegas, NV, and Karen worked as a paralegal for area law firms. Lawrence died August 9, 1982, and Karen returned to Moorhead in 1984. She worked for a number of law firms including Vogel Law Firm.
Karen died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, at seventy-one years of age.
Karen is survived by her brother, Gay (Lorna) Rudrud, of Moorhead; a niece, Yvonne Rudrud of Fargo; a nephew, Shane Rudrud of Arkansas; and five grandnephews.
A gathering of friends for Karen will be Friday, November 27, 2009, from 2 - 4 PM, with a prayer service at 3:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Inurnment will be in Palm Mausoleum, Las Vegas, NV.
