Karol K. Tougas, age 76, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Karol Kay Krug was born on July 24, 1936 in Barnes County, Valley City, ND, the daughter of Ralph and A. Irene (Malosh) Krug. She was raised in the Valley City area and graduated from Valley City High School in 1954. Upon graduation she attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.
Karol was united in marriage to Vincent Tougas on September 3, 1955 in Pelican Rapids, MN.In 1972, Karol began working at the Student Health Center at Minnesota State University Moorhead, retiring in 2000.
Karol enjoyed watching Twins baseball, her soap operas, and the Wheel of Fortune. She loved her family visits, whether it was the lakes, going for breakfast, family holidays or family celebrations.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Vincent; daughter, Katherine (Kenneth) Klever and their children, Kimberly (Andrew) Weinzierl and Kyle Klever; sons, Garold Tougas and his son, Nicholas Tougas; and Randall Tougas and his children, Ashley (Tony) Anderson, Amber Tougas, Ryan Tougas and Brianna Tougas; great-grandchildren, Karolyn Weinzierl, Nolan Roy Tougas, Brody Anderson, William Jandro, Kylee Tougas; and her sister, Judith (Alfred) VonBank.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services were held.
