Katherine M. Bava was born at home in Dilworth, MN, on December 6, 1927, to Dominico and Chiara (Gennorela) Bava. Katherine was raised in Dilworth where she graduated from high school.
She attended Interstate Business College, in Fargo, ND, and then married Stanley Gordon on July 24, 1950, in Dilworth. They made their home in Dilworth where they raised their family.
Stanley died April 3, 1990, and she continued to make Dilworth her home. Katherine died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at her home, under the loving care of her three sons and family, and Hospice of the Red River Valley, at eighty-five years of age.
Katherine is survived by her three sons, Tim (Patty), Detroit Lakes, MN, Stan Jr. (Carol), Des Moines, WA, and Alan (Pam), Moorhead, MN; daughter-in-law, Patty Gordon, Pierre, SD; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Katherine was preceded in death by a son, Dominic; her parents; a brother, Antonio Bava; and a sister, Elizabeth Wallace.
The family would like to thank Hospice for their kind and compassionate care they offered to Katherine and her family, and Father Pat Sullivan for his daily visits to the home.
Visitation for Katherine will be Monday, June 3, 2013, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service and rosary recitation at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The funeral mass will be Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 10:30 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
