Katherine "Kate" M. Thompson, 91, Fargo, ND, died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at her residence in Fargo.
Katherine Mary Anderson, known to many as "Kate" was born February 10, 1929 in Crookston, MN to Arthur and Katherine (Regan) Anderson. She was united in marriage to her soulmate, Robert "Tommy" Thompson. They celebrated over 58 years of marriage. Robert passed away in 2006 and Kate has missed him every day since his passing. Kate has lived the majority of her life in Moorhead but most recently with her daughter as her health started to decline. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family.
Kate was an avid reader, she also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, especially growing daisies. She was a talented seamstress and fashionista, who loved clothes and a stylish pair of shoes. Kate was a casual gambler who loved pull tabs or "tickies" as she like to call them, scratch offs, bingo and the number 55 or "fiver-fiver". She was an Irish woman who loved to dance, drink a little and always take in the moment. She would want you to know that she has been alive for a long time, but more importantly she was here for a good time.
Kate was a charter member of Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert "Tommy" (2006) and one son, Robert "Bobby" Thompson.
Per her request, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of her life was held at her 90th birthday party and was attended by her closest family and friends. An Irish wake will be planned at a later date.
