Katherine "Kathy" J. Pingree, age 73, of rural Georgetown, MN, died Monday, January 7, 2013, in her home under the able care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Katherine Joyce Albert was born August 16, 1939, at Erie, ND, to Walter and Lucile (Brix) Albert. Katherine graduated from the Erie Public School in 1957. She attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND, and worked as a bookkeeper at Northwestern Supply in Moorhead, MN, for 4 years. She later worked as a bookkeeper at the Perley Farmers Cooperative Elevator from 1973 to 1997.
Kathy married Donald Pingree on September 1, 1962, at the Methodist Church in Erie and they made their home in rural Georgetown. Katherine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, scrapbooking and flower gardening. She was a member of Kirkebo Lutheran Church in Perley, MN.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; mother, Lucile of Erie; daughters, Sheila (Steve) Anonsen of Fargo, and Colleen (Dave) Gripentrog of Breckenridge, MN; two granddaughters, Sarah Joy (Jesse) Stegeman of Fergus Falls, MN, and Lydia Anonsen of Fargo; one great-grandson, Elijah Stegeman; sisters, Florence (Gary) Welharticky of Breckenridge, and Maxine (Roger) Edland of McHenry, ND; a brother, Gene (Brenda) Albert of Erie; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Albert and infant son, Eric.
Memorials may be designated to either the Kirkebo Cemetery or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation: Thursday, 5 PM to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Interment: Kirkebo Lutheran Cemetery, Perley.
