Kathleen Benedicta Evans was born on March 21, 1915, in Wales, England, to William and Agnes (O'Brien) Evans. She and her younger brother, Bernard, attended school in Wales where she graduated from Nursing School. Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse in a Mental Health Care Facility.
Kathleen met Palmer Sorenson, who was an American soldier serving in the Army during WWII. Kathleen wrote a letter to General Dwight Eisenhower requesting a leave from the Army for Palmer so that they could get married. Eisenhower wrote back and granted the leave. Kathleen and Palmer were married on August 13, 1945, in England.
When the war was over, Palmer and Kathleen made their home in Ulen, MN, where they farmed and Kathleen worked at Don Hanson's Hardware Store. They lived in Ulen for 35 years before moving to Glyndon, MN.
In 2003, they returned to Ulen where they made their home at the Northern Lights Assisted Living Apartments. Palmer died on March 1, 2006, and Kathleen continued to make her home in Ulen until her death on March 1, 2012, at Viking Manor Nursing Home. She was 96 years old.
Kathleen enjoyed gardening, traveling overseas to England and Norway and in the motor home through out the United States. Kathleen especially loved animals including her pets, Topper, Topsy and Kitty Kat.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bernard. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1 PM. St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Burial: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley.
