Katie Joy (Marvel) Stone, born on June 29th, 1985, in Roseau, Minnesota, passed away on March 13th, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by her loving family.
Katie was the cherished daughter of Peggy Otto and David Marvel. She grew up in and around Dilworth and Glyndon, Minnesota, and graduated from DGF High School in 2003 and later graduated from Air Academy. In 2006, Katie married her beloved husband Jason Stone at Maranatha Lutheran Church in Glyndon, Minnesota.
Katie and her husband were blessed with three wonderful boys, Gavin, Liam, and Christian, whom she adored deeply. They raised their family in the Fargo area, where Katie pursued various passions over the years. Her dedication and hard work led her to become an expert in things she set her mind to, particularly as a graphic designer in the laser jewelry space. Her thousands of unique designs gained a large following and could be found at craft fairs all over the United States. Her business, Pearl and Peg, was often a top seller on Etsy, through which she made many friends who will miss her dearly.
Katie loved to travel with her family, especially on cruises, and she had a special affection for her puppies, Cayde (pronounced Cade) and Ollie.
Katie was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Helen (Otto) Tweten, her father, David Charles Marvel; and her father-in-law, Mark Blackwood Stone.
She is survived by her husband, Jason; her three boys, Gavin, Liam, and Christian; her brother, Heath Marvel, Minneapolis, MN; her brother, Joshua Marvel, and his daughter, Chloe Martin, Sioux Falls, SD; mother-in-law, Laurie Stone, Wahpeton, ND; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Andrea Stone, Fergus Falls, MN, and their children, Havyn and Adleigh Stone of Wadena, MN. and her niece Austin Loose, Casselton, ND.
Katie's legacy of love, dedication, and creativity will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Katie’s wish would be to have memorials directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of her mother, Peggy, who passed away from pancreatic cancer.
