Larry Clarence Grimley, age 67, of Georgetown, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Larry, the son of Clarence and Laura (Johnson) Grimley, was born in Thief River Falls, MN, on October 29, 1947. In 1952, he moved with his family to Moorhead, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1965.
On December 21, 1965, Larry married Linda Goodno. Larry served his country in the US Air Force from 1965 until 1969, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. After his discharge, the family lived in Sabin, MN, and in 1971, moved into Moorhead.
Larry worked for Eastgate Bee Company, Moorhead Linoleum and Tile, and D & S Hydraulics. He retired from D & S in 2008.
On July 15, 2002, Larry married Hazel Donahue. Following their marriage, they lived in Moorhead and in Georgetown. For the last two years, Larry had been a resident of ManorCare Health Services, in Fargo. Larry enjoyed time spent at the lakes, playing bingo, and reading and watching westerns. He was a regular at the "Fry'n Pan".
Larry is survived by his wife, Hazel, Georgetown; son, James (Kim) Grimley, Moorhead; daughter, Desera (Jake) Johnson, Crescent City, CA; brother, Clayton (Donna) Grimley, Detroit Lakes, MN; stepchildren, Sean (Becky) Donahue, Michelle Donahue and Tawnia Murray; grandchildren, Tucker and Allyson Grimley, Kassandra (Devon) Blazek, and Katarina Erickson; great-grandchildren, Michael Blazek and Kayden and Denver Erickson; and four stepgrandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marlene Kjelvik.
