Lenora Irene Mack was born August 19, 1911, to Jacob and Rosa (Nagel) Mack, in Lehr, ND, where she attended school. Lenora received her degree in Elementary Education from the Normal and Industrial College in Ellendale, ND. At eighteen years of age, Lenora began to teach in the rural district schools.
On April 5, 1935, Lenora was united in marriage to William "Bill" Kranzler in Lehr, where they made their home until 1955, when they moved to Cando, ND. She taught first grade for two years. In 1957, they moved to Ellendale, where Lenora taught for fifteen years. While in Ellendale, Lenora received her Bachelor of Science in Education. She retired in 1973 after twenty-seven years of teaching. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 1995 and Bill died August 3, 1996. She continued to make her home in Moorhead until entering ManorCare Health Services in Fargo, ND, in September of 2002.
Lenora was very active in her church and in her faith. She taught Sunday school for over fifty years and was a member of Women's Missionary Society from 1935 until past her ninetieth birthday. During retirement, Lenora and Bill traveled extensively. They visited all fifty states, much of Canada, Europe and England.
Lenora died on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 in ManorCare Health Services at the age of 93.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Dick) Mills; two sons, Bill (Marty) Kranzler and Rodell (Jackie) Kranzler; six grandchildren, Eric, Kolby and Kevin Mills, and Jonathan, Amy and Sarah Kranzler; great-grandsons, Cameron and Kyler Mills; great-granddaughter, Allison Mills; and a sister, Verna Gehring.
