Leona K. Martin

Leona Katherine Feickert was born December 24, 1927, in Goodrich, ND, to Gottlieb and Bertha (Adams) Feickert. She was raised in Goodrich where she graduated from high school. Leona attended Interstate Business College, Fargo, ND, and then returned to Goodrich where she clerked for her brother in his grocery store.
Leona was united in marriage to Leslie Martin on October 28, 1951, at Harvey, ND. They lived and farmed in the Goodrich area. They moved to Fargo in 1977, where they have since made their home. For ten years, Leona and Leslie spent the winter months in Mission, TX.
Leona was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time at the Fargo Senior Center and was an avid collector of antiques.
Leona died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, at eighty-one years of age.
She is survived by her husband of over fifty-seven years, Leslie, Fargo; her son, Kim, Bismarck, ND; and a nephew, Terry Feickert, Goodrich. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Feickert.
Visitation for Leona will be Wednesday, March 25, 2009, from 5 - 7 PM, at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 2 PM, in Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo.
Burial will be in the spring in Goodrich Cemetery, Goodrich, ND.
