Leonard Lackmann, age 84, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Leonard Lackmann was born September 3, 1922 in Scottsbluff, NE. He grew up there, and in Hardin, MT. During World War II, Leonard served his country in the US Army Air Corps.
After his discharge on December 7, 1945, Leonard made his home in the Moorhead, area, where he attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo. He was married to Patricia Layton in 1947. They lived north of Moorhead, where Leonard farmed. Leonard retired from farming in 1981, and he moved into Moorhead to live in 2003.
Leonard is survived by three sons, Thomas Lackmann, Oldsmar, FL, Jerry Lackmann, Stewartville, MN, and Leonard R. (Cathy) Lackmann, Portland, Indiana; two daughters, Barbara Nelson, Fargo, and Mary (Kevin) Barton, St. Paul, MN; a sister, Carolyn (Donald) Smith, Kansas City, Kansas; a brother, Roland (Patricia) Lackmann, Moorhead; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
