Lillian M. Aldrich, 102, of Fergus Falls, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in her home.
Lillian Mathilda Adrich was born November 2, 1922, the daughter of Olaus and Hilda (Olson) Leiseth, on the family farm near Rustad, MN, where she was raised and developed a strong work ethic that carried her through life. Lillian would go to graduate from Comstock High School and later moved to Moorhead, MN, along with her sister, Helen, where they both would find employment.
On September 7, 1947, Lillian was united in marriage to Harlan Aldrich at Rustad. They began their life together in Moorhead, where Lillian worked while Harlan pursued his education. Upon Harlan’s graduation from college, the couple relocated to Carrington, ND, where Harlan worked for Tri-County Electric. In 1955, Lillian and Harlan settled on a farm near Nashua, MN, where they shared their passion and love for farming until moving to Moorhead in 1972. Harlan passed away on October 9, 1976, and Lillian continued to reside in Moorhead.
In her later years, Lillian worked as a Hostess at Mr. Steak and dedicated numerous hours alongside with her sister, Helen, volunteering at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead. In 2008, Lillian became a resident in Eventide Assisting Living in Moorhead and later moved to Peacefull Bliss assisted living in Alexandria, MN. For the last nine years, Lillian has lived with and has been lovingly cared for by her daughter and son-in-law at their home near Fergus Falls.
Lillian enjoyed gardening, nurturing both flower and vegetable gardens. A woman of many talents, she was musically inclined and was a self-taught player of the accordion, piano, and organ. Additionally, she excelled as seamstress, crafting many of her own outfits, wedding dresses and other garments.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Scott Neppl) Schreiber; grandson, Quinn (Amy) Schreiber; great-grandchildren, Rehanna Schreiber and Jessie Fox; sister, Louise Schmidt; brother, Einar (Rita) Leiseth; sister-in-law, Mary Leiseth; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Harlan; brother, Alfred Leiseth; brother & sister-in-law, Ole and Beatrice Leiseth; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Kenneth Krabbenhoft; and brother-in-law, Henry Schmidt.
A Visitation for Lillian will begin at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, followed by her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead. She will be laid to rest in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
