Lillian Evangeline Tollefsrud was born October 20, 1917, in Ulen, MN, to Ole B. Hendrickson Tollefsrud and Anna (Hogenson) Tollefsrud.
She married Benjamin J. Willms on March 7, 1942, in Ulen. Lillian moved quietly into the light on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Lillian and B.J. were foster parents for many years and had over one hundred children in their home. She loved children and never turned anyone away. She also loved her church quilting, cooking and family. She made the best krumkake ever. She was loved by everyone that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Lillian is survived by three sons, Edward (Rae) Willms, Dwight Willms, and Dion Topham, all Moorhead, MN; a daughter-in-law, Jan Willms, St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren, Jason Willms, Montgomery, TX, Teresa (Shawn) Paulson, Ulen, Rebecca (Michael) Sanders, Osage, MN, Liberty Willms, St. Paul, and Bjorn Willms, St. Paul; ten great-grandchildren, Megan, Zoe and Alexus Willms, McVille, ND, Dallas, Austen, Brandon, and Shawna Paulson, Ulen, Alexander, Hunter, and Madysen Sanders, Osage; a sister-in-law, Marie Tollefsrud; and a large extended family.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin in 1985; a son, David B. Willms; a grandson, Jessie L. Willms; and siblings, Benonie Tollefsrud, Mayme (Gilman) Hendrickson, Tillie (Walter) Moe, Henry (Selma) Tollefsrud, Floyd (Gladys) Tollefsrud, M
The funeral for Lillian will be Sunday, December 14, 2008, at 3 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Visitation will be at the Chapel one hour prior to the funeral.
