Lillian Kerlin, age 94, of Mayville, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, and Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville.
Lillian Sophia Corneliussen, the daughter of John and Marie (Peterson) Corneliussen, was born on Dec. 22, 1909, at rural Rustad, MN, where she grew up and received her education. When she was 16, the family moved to Moorhead.
On September 19, 1931, Lillian was united in marriage to Leonard A. W. Kerlin, at Comstock, MN. The couple lived in Moorhead, Grand Forks, ND, and Grand Island, NE. In 1945, they moved to Dilworth, MN. Lillian worked at Blue Bird Café and the Sweden House Restaurant in Moorhead. From 1954 to 1978, she and Leonard operated a berry farm near Ada, MN. Leonard died on March 3, 1979.
After his death, Lillian continued to live in Dilworth. In the late 1980's she moved to Moorhead, to live in Parkview Terrace. In 1995, Lillian moved to Mayville, and became a resident of Luther Memorial Home.
She is survived by a son, Donald (Rosina) Kerlin, Mayville; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Messerschmidt, who died in 1987; her parents; three brothers; and seven sisters.
