Lincoln Lee

May 19, 1964 — April 23, 2012

Lincoln L. Lee, age 47, died at his parent's home in Dilworth, MN, on April 23, 2012, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. He fought a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family who loved him very much.

Lincoln, son of Loren and Yvonne (Appert) Lee was born in Alexandria, MN, on May 19, 1964. He grew up and received his education in Alexandria, graduating from high school in 1983. He joined the United States Air Force May of 1983, and served six years active duty in Okinawa, Japan and the USA. Upon his honorable discharge in January 1989, he joined the North Dakota Air National Guard 119th Wing where he served until his illness in January 2012. Lincoln received many awards and decorations for his years of service.

From 1989 to 1994, Lincoln attended North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with minors in Business Administration and Gerontology. Lincoln attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, from 1996 to 1997, for Pastoral Ministry Graduate Studies.

Growing up in Alexandria, Lincoln enjoyed many camping trips with his family and helping on his grandparents and uncles farms during summer vacations. In later years he enjoyed traveling with his children. He was an avid reader, loved music, riding his motorcycle and bike, and family gatherings at the lake.

Lincoln is survived by his parents, Loren and Yvonne Lee of Dilworth; his children, Landon, Mallory and Leighton, and their mother, Betty Lee of Dilworth; brother, Tony (Shari) Lee of Moorhead; sister, Tracy (Kelly) Holwagner of Horace, ND; his nieces, Kelsi, Auna, and Miah; and nephew, Casey.

A special thank you to the staff at the VA Palliative Care and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their special care of Lincoln and his family and to the Air National Guard 119th Wing for all their help and support.

Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2012, from 4 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 10:30 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Wild Rose Cemetery, Georgetown, MN.
