Linda J. Stevenson, 48, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.
Linda Jean Janke was born October 5, 1956, to Edwin and Violet (Diede) Janke in Ashley, ND, and she lived in various cities including Ellendale, ND, Steele, ND and Medina, ND. As a young woman, Linda moved to Germany where she graduated from the Frankfurt American High School in 1974.
In 1978, Linda joined the Marines and she was stationed in California until her discharge in 1981. She then began working for Sharp Cabrillo Hospital, San Diego, CA, as a computer operator. In 1982, she began working as a computer programmer/analyst for Electronic Data Systems at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. In 1989, Linda moved to Fargo, ND, and worked as a computer programmer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.
Linda married Joel A. Stevenson on February 14, 1994, in Fargo and they made their home for a short period of time in Horace, ND, eventually settling in Lowry, MN. In August of 2004, Linda and Joel moved to Detroit Lakes.
Linda was a loving mother to her three daughters whom she was home schooling. She enjoyed crafts, painting, and was full of energy and spirit. She will be deeply missed by many.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joel; three daughters, Dawn, April, and Micki, all at home in Detroit Lakes; and a brother, Marvin (Betty) Janke, Napoleon, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mavis.
