Linda Kuehl

Linda R. Kuehl, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in her home in Moorhead, after a courageous 15 year fight with Muscular Dystrophy.

Linda was born March 25, 1947, in Valley City, ND, to Edward and Lucille (Hurt) Hofsommer. She graduated from Fargo (ND) Central High in 1966. She was married to, and later divorced from Paul Haug. They had two children, Marc and Michael.

Linda was married to her best friend, Ward, on March 9, 1991. They had been together for 8 years prior to their marriage.

Linda attended and graduated from Moorhead Technical School in 1983. She had a 20 year tenure working at Fargo Housing Authority, where she enjoyed helping people in need, until her retirement in 2008. It was during this time that she made some friendships that have stood the test of time.

Whether with family or friends, Linda loved to congregate, visit, and laugh - Linda had a very infectious laugh; and then visit some more. She was often the last to leave a gathering. Linda held close the nearly lifetime friendships that she shared with a few chosen people. She loved going to Island Lake with her husband, Ward, for 30 years; and recently with Marc, Karla, and two loving grandkids, Marcus and Jacob. Linda worked tirelessly her whole life to care for her two boys, and raised them with love and tenderness. She was supportive and loving, no matter what the circumstances.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ward; sons, Marc (Karla) Haug, West Fargo, ND, and Michael (Jennifer) Haug, Minneapolis, MN; grandsons, Marcus and Jacob; brother, Gary (Jean) Hofsommer, Eugene, OR; and animal companions, Luca, Willie, and Scruffy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, JoAnn Reger.

Memorials preferred to the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.

Visitation: Thursday, 5 PM until 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral: Friday, February 21, 2014, at 10:30 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
