Lloyd Albert Correll was born August 16, 1930, to Prentice and Olga (Evers) Correll in Mapleton Township, ND. He went to school, until the 7th grade, at the Dobrins District School, a one room schoolhouse that is now at Bonanzaville. At age 15, he started working at Correll Construction alongside his dad and brother, Merle. They built many township and county roads in the Cass County area. In 1945, the family moved to Moorhead, MN, and Lloyd graduated from Moorhead High School in 1948.

On October 25, 1952, Lloyd married Beverly Aadland in Moorhead and they had three sons, Terry, Steve and Faron. Lloyd and Bev built a home in Oakport Township in 1959, where they lived until moving into River Pointe, Moorhead. Lloyd sold his business, Correll Construction, and retired in 1993.
Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at their lake home on Pelican Lake and playing music. He was a talented musician (guitar and vocals) and was active in local bands for over 60 years. Lloyd played with Lorraine’s Dance Band for 25 years and then formed the Country Auggies Band with bandmates, Jerry Stange and Larry Johnson.
