Lloyd A. Odin was born October 27, 1925, in Fargo, the son of Oscar and Lillian (Peterson) Odin. He grew up and received his education in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school in 1943.
Lloyd served his country during WW II in the US Army. He served in General Patton's 3rd Army and participated in the "Battle of the Bulge". After his discharge, he returned to Moorhead, where he attended and graduated from Concordia College.
Lloyd married Muriel Meslow on November 10, 1962, at Wyndmere, ND. They made their home in Moorhead, where Lloyd worked at First National Bank. He also worked in finance at other banks, and ended his career working for the collection service and credit bureau in Fargo. Lloyd retired in the mid 1970s. The family enjoyed time spent at their lake home on Pelican Lake, near Pelican Rapids, MN.
Lloyd enjoyed music and played both piano and tuba. He was an active member of the Red River Valley Veteran's Band. He also was a collector of cars and other things that interested him.
Lloyd A. Odin, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, at the age of 87.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clyde; and Clyde's wife, Alice.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Muriel, Moorhead; daughter, Julie (David) Maroney, Eden Prairie, MN; son, Brad, Moorhead; and three grandchildren, Samatha, Danielle and Trey Maroney.
Visitation: Friday, one hour prior to the funeral, at the church.
Funeral: Friday, December 14, 2012, at 11 AM in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Friday in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
