Lois Jean Haggerty

Lois J. Haggerty, 84, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, December 14, 2017, in Bethany on University, Fargo.

Lois Jean Roof, the daughter of William "Ray" and Bernice (Colebank) Roof, was born in Garden City, MN, on March 19, 1933. The family moved to Fertile, MN, where Lois graduated from high school. She later attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, and then went to work for Russ Buick.

While working at Russ Buick, Lois met Lee W. Haggerty. They were married on January 15, 1955. They first made their home in Fargo, and later moved to Moorhead. Lois worked for 25 years as the office manager at West Acres Development Company. In retirement, she cared for her great-grandchildren.

Lois and Lee enjoyed square dancing and camping in the motorhome. Lee died in August of 2010. Lois continued to live in Moorhead. In 2015, she became a resident of The Farmstead, Moorhead, and in 2016, a resident of Bethany on University.

Lois is survived by daughters, Joan (Bill) Steen, Horace, ND, and Patricia (Steven) Schultz, Fargo; sons, Steven Haggerty, Fargo, and Michael Haggerty, West Fargo, ND; a sister, Bernice (Glenn) Solberg, Gully, MN; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Grieger, Jennifer (Jim) Rud, and Jeremy Schultz; great-grandchildren, Damien Grieger, Hailey Osness, and Alex, Brady and Carter Rud; sisters-in-law, Monna Jean Rau and Dorothy Roof; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Lois was preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell, William (Carol), and an infant, Wayne Roof.

Visitation for Lois will be Tuesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at 2 PM, also in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
