Loretta Hughes

Loretta Beata Lee Hughes was born March 25, 1943, to James and Gertrude (Stegman) Hughes. She grew up in Neche, ND, and graduated from high school in 1961. Loretta was proud of winning a spelling bee in school and spoke often of how poorly people and some news sources spelled.

Loretta moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area and worked in the banking industry for many years. In 2005, Loretta moved closer to family in Fargo-Moorhead. During her retirement, she worked at the ReStore and for various Clay County agencies in Moorhead, MN.

Loretta loved horses, good food and telling stories. She also enjoyed "get-togethers" with family and friends. Loretta cherished her photo albums filled with pictures of friends and family from the 1960s to present day. While living in local retirement facilities, Loretta made friends easily and enjoyed sharing her life experiences.

Loretta is survived by siblings, Candy (Bill) Lupien, Roswell, NM, Char (Roger) Burnside, Lake Park, MN, Jim (Wanda) Hughes, Harwood, ND, and Bill (Marilyn) Hughes, Moorhead. Loretta is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and nieces.

Loretta went to live in heaven with her mother, father, grandparents and many other relatives on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead. She wanted everyone to know that she "Loved the Lord, loved her family, and loved a good joke." She will be missed. God bless the life of Loretta Hughes.

Visitation will begin at 2 PM, with a Life Celebration service at 2:30 PM, Monday, April 8, 2019, in Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.
