Lorraine Lund

Lorraine Lund was born in Enderlin, ND, on August 29, 1928, to Arthur and Minnie (Goss) Christianson. She attended school in Enderlin and graduated in the Enderlin High School class of 1946. As she grew up in Enderlin, Lorraine considered her father fortunate to be employed by the railroad, which enabled her to learn to play piano.
On June 22, 1947, Lorraine was married to John O. Lund in Enderlin. They lived in Valley City, ND, and moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1956. She played piano and taught piano lessons for over 40 years, which extended into last year and had provided her years of joy. As her family grew up she had also been a Campfire Girl leader.
In recent years, she loved spending time with family and friends at their lake cabin on Lake Lida. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards and games. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. As a fifty year member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, she served in the Altar Guild, cared for communion records for years, and taught Sunday School. As a volunteer, she served United Blood Services for many years.
Mr. Lund died in 1990 and from that time, she has been an active part of the Tuesday morning coffee group. This special group of ladies provided Lorraine much support even into her 5 month encounter with cancer. For the last month, Lorraine had been receiving care at Manor Care in Fargo, ND. She died there on Monday afternoon, October 24th at the age of 77 years.
Her family includes two daughters and one son, John (JeLain) Lund of Orlando, FL; Judy Lund of Fargo; and Jerie (Keith) Little of Fargo. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Joshua Lund of Austin, TX; Andrew Lund of Austin, TX; Courtney (Quinby) Chunn of West Hollywood, CA; Kenny Wold of Fargo; and Stephanie Little of Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and a brother, Art (Bud) Christianson.
