Lorriane M. Engebretson, 87, Fargo, ND, died Friday, April 30, 2010 in the Villa Maria, Fargo.
Lorraine Mae Tracy was born December 29, 1922, in Brownton, MN, to Emery and Edna Tracy. She graduated from high school in Hutchinson, MN, and worked at the drugstore in Hutchinson.
On September 7, 1943, Lorraine married Lyall Engebretson in Farragut, Idaho. They lived in Hutchinson, Casselton, ND, and Minneapolis, MN. In 1957, they moved to Moorhead and co-owned and operated the Bob Fritz Sporting Good Store along with Bob and Phyllis Fritz. Lorraine retired from the sporting goods store in 1973, and began working at Moorhead Drug, where she worked for seventeen years.
In 1980, Lorraine and Lyall moved to Fargo. Lyall died on August 24, 1996, and Lorraine continued to make her home in Fargo eventually living with her daughter, Mary, for eight years. In 2008, Lorraine became a resident of the Villa Maria.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Frank) Gifford; a son, Robert Engebretson; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kristy) Gifford, Kisha Gifford, Tracy (John) Fandl, and Sadie (Eric) Holden; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd; and one great-grandchild.
