Lorraine Sannes

Lorraine Evelyn Sannes was born February 13, 1925 in Redstone, Montana to Fred G. and Nora (Berg) Westerberg. Her education was received at Glyndon Public School.
On June 28, 1942, Lorraine was married to Gordon C. Sannes in Moorhead, Minnesota. For a short time, they lived in Averill, MN before moving into Moorhead where they made their home until the present time. To this family, four children were born.
Besides raising their family, Lorraine had worked as a clerk at Kresge's Department Store and was bookkeeper for Sannes Burner Service that was operated by Gordon. As a patriotic wife of a Veteran, Lorraine was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had served as its' President for several years. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Lorraine and Gordon were avid golfers at Ponderosa Golf Club in Glyndon, where Lorraine served on the Board of Directors. She had earned the distinction of a "hole-in-one" in tournament play. For over 50 years, she was an active bowler and member of the W.I.B.C.
Gordon died in April of 2002. Lorraine continued to live in the community until her death on Monday evening, the 14th of July at the age of 83 years.
Her family includes four children and their spouses: Lorna (Gay) Rudrud of Moorhead, Irene Marquardt of Moorhead, Michael (Anna) Sannes of Kulm, ND, and Debra (Tim) Rowley of Kent, MN; 7 grandchildren and 9 1/2 great grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Frances (Gerald) Swagart of Cooks, MI, Betty Bren of Desert Shores, CA, Walter (June) Westerberg of Fargo, ND, and James (Kathy) Westerberg of Coeur d'Alene, ID.

Funeral: Friday, July 18, 2008, at 11 AM,
Trinity Lutheran Church, 210 7th Street S., Moorhead.
Interment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
