Lou Maynard Severson was born May 18, 1943, in Barnesville, MN, to Clifford and Elayne (Allen) Severson. Lou died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, at the age of 73.

Lou graduated from high school in Barnesville and attended Hub City Bible Institute in Aberdeen, SD, where he met his wife, Jacqueline Jahr. They married August 27, 1965, in Fargo. They lived in Pierre and Aberdeen, SD, where he pastored for 1 1/2 years as a Circuit Minister and attended Northern State College. They moved to Lebanon, SD and pastored for a year before moving back to Fargo in 1969. He worked for Silverline Boat Manufacturing and on to Cass-Clay Creamery for 29 years. He retired in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, Fargo; his daughter, Kaye Cimo, Fargo; sons, Jonathan, Lakewood, CO, and Michael (Shonna) Hawley, MN; two grandsons, Christopher Cimo and Jayden Severson; a brother, Lonny, Hooper, UT; and a sister, Pamela (Mike) Sherman, Chamberlain, SD.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elayne Severson; and a brother, Dale Severson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 2 PM, in First Assembly, Fargo.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
