Louis P. Ochoa Sr., 68, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, April 10, 2009, in MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Louis Peter Ochoa was born February 21, 1941, to Jesus and Petra (Cruz) Ochoa in San Antonio, TX, where he was raised until the family moved to Moorhead in the 1940's. Louis attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Moorhead, and then served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966.
On November 20, 1965, Louis married Teodora "Lola" Perez in Carrizo Springs, TX. They made their home in Moorhead where Louis worked as a farm laborer for Paul Horn Farms for many years. Louis later worked for Valan Farms.
On May 7, 2008, Lola died and Louis continued to make his home in Moorhead. He loved getting together with his family and enjoyed camping and family barbeques. Farming was also very important to him and he enjoyed taking long car rides to look at the fields.
He is survived by three sons, Louis Jr. (Tanya) Ochoa, Dilworth, MN, Michael (Brandi) Ochoa, Moorhead, and Bernabe Ochoa, Moorhead; a daughter, Priscilla (Kyle) Schiefert, Barnesville, MN; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse (Pearl) Ochoa, Moorhead, and Fernando (Karen) Ochoa, Fargo; a sister, Mary (Greg) Lang, Fargo; and a special cousin, Gene Cruz, Fargo.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Margarito, Anthony, and Joseph.
